Pricing & Booking Policies


Each of our rooms is different in size and shape and uniquely decorated to provide maximum comfort. Categories are based on size, bathroom configuration, and detail, and each offers similar features. All offer high quality bed, private telephone with data port & voice mail, TV/VCR, CD player with FM clock radio, air conditioning & ceiling fan, and most have a desk and Wireless Internet access. Some have private terraces, sitting areas, and DSL broadband connections. We use high quality mattresses, hypo-allergenic goose down duvet, and all cotton bedding for your comfort. Room categories for all three properties are outlined here, with most categories available in each.
Price range shown in CN$ (approximated US$ equivalents in Brackets)...and reflect Low-Season mid-week - High-Season rates.

  • Standard B&B: Queen, Double or Twin bed configurations with semi-private bath (shared with one other room);
    $119-$179 (approx US$97-$138)
  • Deluxe: Queen configurations only with en-suite private bath or private Terrace (Terraces at Cawthra Square only).
    $199-$269 (approx US$160-$210)
  • Premium: Our luxury level Rooms. These are the rooms that offer lovely heritage elements and traditional furnishings. All have queen size bed, and an en-suite bath; Others with en-suite two-person Whirlpool bath; And one has a standard bath and private terrace;

  • Premium Superior: Our luxury, one-room suites. Your choice of spectacular large rooms with a Queen size bed plus a comfortable Daybed (or twins) in the sitting area, and a luxury en-suite two-person Whirlpool or Soaking bath. Will accommodate 4 persons;
    $279-$339 (approx US$226-$275)
  • Luxury Suites: A variety of One and Two room Luxury suites are now available. Beautifully furnished with a queen size luxury bedroom, and an adjoining room similarly furnished but smaller and complete with Antique style Daybed or sofa-bed for sleeping, lounging, or working. Some offer two-person Whirlpool bath, while others offer lovely private terraces. Truly private and comfortable;

  • Entire home:
    The gracious Edwardian 10 Cawthra Square is available in its entirety for short or mid-term stays. 6 guest rooms, (or 4 Suites) formal principal rooms, garden, housekeeper in separate quarters on-site;
    Either of the Victorian Mansions are also available for larger family functions or business retreats. With magnificent formal meeting rooms, gardens, and independent Carriage House function room / conference facility, these are well suited to weddings, retreats, and larger functions; Minimum stay requirements.

  • Carriage House & Meeting Rooms: The Canadian Heritage Carriage House that serviced The Rundle House and The Edward Gallow House has been refurbished as a 500 sq ft, independent meeting room / convention facility. This beautiful and uniquely appointed room blends historical rustic elements with modern technology to provide excellent meeting space for business groups up to 50. With the "stable" doors opened to the garden terrace, this room doubles it's capacity and is transformed into fabulous space for product launches, family dinners, parties and other uses.

Smoking

Subject to City regulations all of Gloucester Square and Cawthra Square is smoke free. We have some rooms with private terraces where one can step directly outside from the room.

Massage and Spa Appointments

Various Masseurs, Aroma therapist and Reflexologist provide personalised services to guests in our glorious Single and Doubles Spa Rooms at The Edward Gallow mansion. Average service charge is CN$75/hour +GST (approx US$60/hour). Longer and combination appointments are available on request. Consider booking ahead, although you may request time and day when booking. See our Spa or Massage pages for more information

Pets

We can accommodate pets in some rooms and on certain conditions. In all cases, we must respect other guests allergies and sound considerations; hence, pets when accepted must be kept in a crate in the room when within the home. There is an excellent kennel 2 blocks from our door.

Tax and Rebates

Canada's universal Goods and Services Tax (7%) must be charged in addition to the room rate or services. This tax for both accommodation and many purchases, can be claimed back by visitors to Canada . Provincial Tax may is also charged (5%), and this may be also be claimed back in some cases. As a member of Tourism Toronto and the GTHA we also charge 3% DMF.

Exchange Rate

For approximate US$-equivalent room prices, simply reduce the CN$ amounts by about 15%. For precise current exchange rates click here .

Telephones

All rooms have telephones with data ports and voice mail. Our comprehensive system allows free local and toll-free calls, and retrieval of voice mail from anywhere.

Parking

We have unlimited underground parking available to guests beside the Rundle House, and limited on-site outdoor parking, both at modest cost.
These should be booked at time of booking your reservation.

Afternoon High Tea

Tea and Internet come together on weekends. This tradition is an art form when presented at The Rundle Mansion ... for guests and their guests. more info...

Weekends & Holidays

Subject to minimum stay requirements for advance bookings. Details outlined by phone, or by "request a quote" form on this Web site.

Accommodation costs are commissionable where terms are outlined in writing prior to (or at) initial contact.

BOOKING CONDITIONS & CANCELLATIONS


for Regular Room Bookings:

  • Bookings must be accompanied by a valid credit card.
  • Cancellations must be received by mail, email or fax, and...
  • Where written notification is received more than 14 days prior to the confirmed arrival date, you may be charged a service charge, or...
  • Where notice is not received, or received within the 14 days prior, we will attempt to resell the reserved days and you will be charged for any unsold days.

for Special Event Periods, Packages, and Group (3+Rooms) Bookings:

  • Special Event Periods for 2006: May 19-25, June 19-26, August 13-18, September 07-20, and Dec 31, and will be identified when the Booking is made/confirmed.
  • 50% deposit is required at time of booking.
    The deposit may be made by cheque if received 45+ days from the arrival date and secured by credit card; or by credit card accompanied by a signed credit card authorization form.
  • Balance payable 15 days prior to arrival. Final deposits not received 15 days from arrival date, may be subject to cancellation of entire booking and forfeit of deposit
  • All rates are quoted and billed in Canadian Funds
  • All Room Bookings are subject to the following taxes: 5% Provincial Room Tax, 3% DMF, and 7% GST
  • Spa Bookings are subject to 15% gratuity (on spa portion only)
  • Cancellations must be sent and received by mail, email or fax, and...
  • No refund provided if Special Event Bookings are cancelled less than 15 days prior to arrival. Cancellation 15 day or more prior to arrival will receive a full refund, minus a $50 administrative processing fee if we are able to replace the booking.
