Our History

Cawthra Square Inn opened in 1996. Restored to its original 6 bedroom plan, the home has been restored by renowned Toronto real estate consultant and Inn Keeper Ric Tremaine. A fine example of the type of "adaptive re-use" property for which Ric is known.

10 Cawthra Square is Edwardian architecture at its finest. The oversized and stately design denotes it's important heritage. Built in 1901 as a Sergeant's home for the York Militia, beside a park that was the center of Toronto's cultural events of the era, the home is one of only two remaining such homes on Cawthra Square.
